wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Sterile Insect Technique (SIT)<\/strong><\/summary>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In partnership with Sterile Insect Technique (Pty) Ltd, we deploy a proven, environmentally friendly method for area-wide pest suppression, mainly focused on false codling moth (FCM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SIT involves releasing sterile moths into orchards to suppress wild populations without harmful pesticides.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unlike chemical control, SIT is species-specific and leaves beneficial insects and pollinators unharmed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Programs run between 27 and 39 weeks, depending on the crop, offering reliable pest management throughout the production cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By reducing reliance on pesticides and harmful chemicals, Ilali Agri NPC:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduces the destruction to the natural environment that is usually synonymous with such chemicals; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduces the number of toxic substances consumed by the general public daily, reducing the risk factors associated with cancer and other diseases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details has-small-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Monitoring and Surveillance of Pests<\/strong><\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conducted year-round across key fruit-growing regions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides growers with real-time data on pest populations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helps farmers act early and use pesticides only when necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supports Integrated Pest Management (IPM), protecting beneficial organisms and biodiversity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details has-small-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Targeted Agricultural Development<\/strong><\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In collaboration with partners such as the Centre of Biocontrol, Citrus Research International (CRI), River Bioscience, and industry bodies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop disease-resistant varieties and biological control agents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Innovate post-harvest and food safety practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adapt agricultural systems to climate change challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support smallholders and emerging farmers with access to technologies and knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details has-small-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Black Farmer Development<\/strong><\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through partnerships with the Citrus Growers Association Grower Development Company, Citrus Academy, and CRI extension officers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide technical support and training to black farmers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build skills in sustainable practices, pest management, and business development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote equity and inclusivity in agriculture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen the resilience of farming communities and the agricultural
